Four SEO pillars · 03

Technical SEO.
The invisible foundation of rankings.

Even great content won’t rank if Google can’t crawl it and it loads slowly. Technical SEO is the most overlooked yet most critical layer. We run a deep audit and fix every issue — so search engines truly understand your site.

First, the concept

So — what is technical SEO?

Technical SEO optimises your website's underlying tech so search engines can crawl, understand and index your content smoothly. It covers site speed, Core Web Vitals, crawling and indexing, structured data, the mobile version and security.

An analogy: content is the goods your shop sells; technical SEO is the road and the door. If Google's crawler can't get in or moves slowly, nobody sees your goods however good they are. This layer is the most overlooked yet the most critical.

What's included

Fix the foundation first,
then build up.

Technical issues are often invisible to you — but not to Google. We hunt down and fix each one so every dollar you later spend on content and links isn’t held back by technical debt.

01

Core Web Vitals & speed

Optimise LCP, CLS, INP and overall load speed — directly affecting rankings and conversion.

02

Crawling & indexing

Fix robots, sitemaps, duplicate content and indexing so every important page is found.

03

Structured data (Schema)

Make your site stand out in results with rich snippets, lifting click-through rate.

04

Mobile & security

Ensure a mobile-first experience, HTTPS and correct site architecture throughout.

Why it matters

If the foundation is shaky,
everything built on top tilts.

Technical SEO may not jump you from page 10 to page 1 by itself, but if it's broken, it discounts every other SEO effort you make.

01

Can't be reached = can't rank

Pages Google can't crawl or index don't exist to a search engine — however good the content, it's wasted.

02

Speed affects rankings and conversion

Every extra second of load time raises bounce and drop-off. Core Web Vitals are both a ranking factor and a direct influence on business.

03

Amplifies other investment

Fix the foundation first, so every dollar you later put into content and links isn't held back by technical issues.

Our process

Diagnose item by item,
fix item by item.

We won't dump an unreadable report on you. Every fix has a before-and-after and is trackable item by item.

1

Deep technical audit

Crawl the whole site with professional tools, listing every speed, indexing, duplicate-content, broken-link and structure issue.

2

Prioritise by impact

Not all issues at once. We first fix the highest-impact, easiest-win items so you see returns fastest.

3

Speed & Core Web Vitals

Optimise LCP, CLS and INP, compress images, clean up excess code and enable caching — making pages load more than twice as fast.

4

Crawling & indexing

Fix robots, sitemaps, duplicate content and canonicals, ensuring Google spends its crawl budget on your most important pages.

5

Structured data & monitoring

Apply correct Schema to trigger rich results, and set up ongoing monitoring to stop technical debt creeping back with redesigns and new features.

Deliverables

What you actually receive.

Technical SEO is worthless if it’s all talk. Here’s the itemised, trackable work you actually receive.

01

Technical audit report

Every issue listed with its impact and fix, prioritised by effect on rankings.

02

Core Web Vitals fixes

Concrete LCP, CLS, INP and load-speed improvements, with before-and-after.

03

Index & crawl map

A full review and fix of robots, sitemaps and index coverage.

04

Structured-data implementation

Correct Schema applied to your pages to trigger rich results.

In practice

Technical SEO in the real world —
how it rescues rankings?

Technical issues are often invisible to you — but not to Google. Here are three technical pitfalls common to HK SMEs and the results of fixing them.

E-commerce site

Clearing index bloat to focus crawl budget

Thousands of filter-parameter URLs were indexed, dragging down important pages. We tidied the structure with canonicals and correct robots rules.

Result: index coverage rose from 62% to 100%, and crawl errors hit zero.

Brochure site

Slimming images and code to speed up loads

The homepage was packed with uncompressed images and excess plugins. We re-ordered loading, compressed images and lazy-loaded.

Result: page load time dropped from 5.8s to 1.4s, and LCP turned green.

Multi-branch service

Adding structured data to win rich results

The business had multiple branches but Google couldn't read them. We applied LocalBusiness and FAQ Schema to structure the data.

Result: ratings and opening hours appeared in results, and CTR rose noticeably.

FAQ

About technical SEO —
we answer before you ask.

What's the difference between technical and on-page SEO?
In short: on-page SEO is about content — keywords, titles, intent, article quality; technical SEO is about the foundation — speed, crawling, indexing, code. One lets Google read your content; the other lets Google understand it.
My site is fast — why doesn't it rank?
Speed is only part of technical SEO. If the crawler hits obstacles, duplicate content competes, or sitemaps/canonicals are misconfigured, even a fast site won't rank. Our audit finds these hidden issues.
Do Core Web Vitals really affect rankings?
Yes. Google has explicitly listed Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) as a ranking factor. Even with identical content, the page with the better experience has an edge. More importantly, a fast site has lower bounce and higher conversion — good for business itself.
Is technical SEO a one-time job?
No. The initial full audit and fixes are one-time, but every redesign, new feature or plugin can create fresh technical debt. We set up ongoing monitoring to catch issues early, so rankings don't quietly slip without you noticing.
I use Shopify / Wix and can't touch the core — what now?
These platforms limit some low-level control, but there’s still plenty to optimise: image compression, lazy loading, app slimming, structured data, URL and internal-link structure. We know the limits and workarounds of mainstream builders and find what’s actually feasible.
How do I know if my site has technical issues?
The fastest way is to let us run a free technical audit. We crawl your site and deliver a checklist of current issues, their impact and fix priority. After reading it you'll know exactly where your site stands.
Google ranks sites it can understand. Technical SEO is how we make yours understandable.

Is your site slowing itself down?
